Vendor Of The Week – Sisko Chocolate
Before we kick off this week I have two things I need to let you know about!
Photo by Jay Eads in the Switchcities QLD Floods store
We’ve teamed up with Switch Cities to put together a photography sale with all funds going to the QLD Flood Appeal. We would love it if you check it out. Photos from some of the best photographers I know are for sale with more being added constantly! The sale only goes for a week so make sure make your purchase soon!
Also this week you can catch me on one of my favourite blogs- The Design Files! I’ll be guest posting all week with some of my favourite quintessential Australian weddings !
2011 has been nothing if not interesting and we’re only in the third week! Which is why we all need something a little delicious to kick the week off!
Our Monday morning tradition is to show off one of our talented members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory! Our directory is growing full of amazing and talented Australian & international wedding vendors! Each of whom is dedicated to honing their craft and working with Polka Dot Bride readers. Each vendor passes through a number of quality checks by us and each is top notch! (could I sound any more Australian today?)
Today’s (randomly selected from our polka dot tea cup!) vendor is someone I was lucky enough to experience the work of over Christmas! Sisko Chocolate are this week’s Polka Dot Bride Vendor of The Week and create the most AMAZING chocolate and chocolate sculptures and for a Monday morning sweet treat? I could think of no one better!
Sisko Chocolate is based in Hawthorn, Melbourne and owner Christina has worked with the finest chocolate masters all over the world. Sisko Chocolate creates the most beautiful chocolates- not just to eat but to look at! From lotus flower centerpieces, to chocolate Christmas trees and balls that shimmer with gold lustre. Their treats make the most interesting wedding decorations and your guests could even take home their chocolate covered nougat or other sweet treat as a wedding favor. (Trust me, this chocolate is SO creamy and delicious!)
To learn a little more about Sisko Chocolate we asked Christina five questions in five minutes!
What is your favourite after five drink?
A glass of red wine, cabernet sauvignon or shiraz.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
At a winery, taking in the fresh air and indulging in a spa treatment. Eating delicious food, sipping on amazing wine and being able to slow down and just chill.
Favourite restaurant?
So hard to choose, but one I love going back to Is Kobe Jones. Modern Japanese cuisine that funnily enough takes me back to our time in California.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Love French toast on Sunday morning with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, and a good coffee or course.
Your favourite wedding story?
For me it is always about the couple. I love it when you see them get excited that they have found the perfect favour that they want to give to their guests as a thank you. I always love being part of the creative process that inspires couples to think outside of the norm and have chocolate centerpieces instead of the traditional options. Most of all I love to hear that the guests where wowed by the chocolate creations and it created a memorable feature on their wedding day.
